Application process
Impact Austin has a four-part grant application process:
1. Submit letter of inquiry: Each applicant must submit a letter of inquiry using Impact Austin’s online form no later than 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2008. Impact Austin acknowledges each letter of inquiry within 48 hours of receipt. Impact Austin members review all of the submitted letters of inquiry and, on or before February 1, 2008, invite certain organizations to complete a grant application.
PLEASE NOTE: Letters of inquiry are due one week earlier than in previous years. Please plan accordingly.
We provide a worksheet explaining the letter of inquiry submission process in the following versions:

2. Complete and submit grant application: Each organization invited by Impact Austin to complete a grant application must submit its application using Impact Austin's online form no later than 6:00 p.m. on February 28, 2008.
Deadline for grant application: 6:00 p.m. on February 28, 2008.
You will receive acknowledgement of receipt of your application within one week. By mid-April, Impact Austin will select three to four semifinalists in each of the five focus areas.
Impact Austin provides a grant application form to those invited to submit a detailed application. If you wish to see what’s included in the form, the grant application overview provides a summary of the questions we want you to answer and the type of information we want you to provide. You can use the grant application overview to assess your readiness to participate in the grant application process and begin collecting information.

3. Site visit: Impact Austin will select semifinalists in each of the five focus areas and conduct site visits between Thursday, April 17, 2008, and Tuesday, April 22, 2008.
The objective of the site visit is to complete a general due diligence review and to investigate and resolve any final questions. Site visits require approximately two hours of dedicated time, and we require the participation of the executive director, the program manager, a board member and a financial representative. An agenda and interview schedule will be established prior to the visit.
We provide an overview of the site visit process in the following versions:

4. Attend Annual Meeting on June 10, 2008: We mail information about each finalist to every Impact Austin member before voting takes place at our annual meeting. We also invite representatives from each of the finalists to attend the meeting and speak informally with our members about their proposed program. Impact Austin’s members then vote on the finalists, with each member casting one vote and the majority deciding the grant recipients. This year’s annual meeting is on June 10, 2008.
